Thanks for all the updates and translations! It's really good to know Mao knows what she needs to fix immediately re: URs and that now (this season) they are focusing on the jumps. Here's to hoping we'll see a 3-3 this season. As for the 3A, I doubt she'll go for it soon. I think she'll only attempt it once she gets comfortable with the other jumps and get no URs. Of course once in a while in competition practices she'd try it out like she always does but now it ain't her priority. Overall I have a good feeling now.

Seems like Mao swaps her flip and loop at the second half of the program. So instead of 3loop2loop, 3flip2loop2loop, she will do 3flip2loop, 3loop2loop2lo

Mao looks good! I've noticed that this season her way of talking to the media is different from the past two years. When she's nervous or not in good condion, she tends to blink her eyes and hesitate when she talks. But we don't see that this year which I guess means that she's confident ! yay!

She thinks Mao has good programs this season.
SP shows her adorableness and lightness and her facial expression is fabulous.
It shows her cheerfulness and she really enjoys watching it.

3A is way difficult jump. It will give pressure and difficult jumps can make skaters feel stomach pain. Skaters must nail jumps to make points and they have to keep practicing them otherwise they will feel anxious. Her programs do not have 3A this season and it must help her feel more relaxed. Also she can use time for practicing other elements more, which helps her to get positive GOEs across the board.

She does such difficult tricks but she doesn't stumble nor stagger. Yukina assumes Mao has been doing a lot of run through so that she can complete her program without running out of stamina.

I do love Yukina's Kyoto accent. Lovely lady Razz

So the layout will be 3Lo, 2A+3T, 3F, 3Lz, 3S, 3F+2Lo, 3Lo+2Lo+2Lo? I think she did it trying not to get that < in the flip, because she's obviously tired when she has to do the last jump and the height is not as good as it is in the first half so she tends to UR the flip, the loop is an easier jump for her and she has an higher probability of completing the rotation correctly, I think.

Both the jumps looked great, the loop wasn't UR, I think, nor the 2A+3T, but she always loses so much speed after the second jump... scratch

On the upside - I think Daisuke Takahashi had arrived. I definitely saw a Team Japan jacket with a suitcase directing the medical staff backstage, and it looked a lot like Dai. Good for Team Japan - always supportive of each other.

It looked like a dislocated shoulder. That is going to take a while to heal.

Shaky jumps from Dai - 2-footed on the 3A and a hand down on the quad toe. Also not as much speed coming out of his 3-3 as usual. That is not going to beat Yuzuru. Although he is certainly working up the females out on the ice.
