I would say that fighting the next round is useless. If this winds up anything like the TIME 100 Yuna has a win FOR SURE!

I'm almost sure somebody passed on info in some particular country's bbs or forum (no names mentioned... ) about this poll, encouraging folks to vote against Mao whoever she's up against...some peoples' attitudes toward these things are really pathetic.

Yeah, it's almost like an obsession and actually pretty scary!

I gues they want their skater to win no matter what - but voting for someone just for the sake of voting against a particular skater? Looks like some fans are pretty insecure... I mean, are they so afraid that their favorite skater won't win on a direct match up fair and square? Otherwise why would they do such a thing?

Oh well... it's just my opinion...

This is a little off topic, but do you know that after winning silver at her first Olympics, Carol went on to win all her world championships than capping that off with an OGM? That's so impressive. I hope that's Mao's record in the next four years. She's already at the same starting point.

Well it either shows one of two things (or both)
Whoever is voting against Mao for the sake of Yuna either doesn't believe that Yuna will honestly win in a match up or a part of Yuna fans have caused their love for Yuna to turn into hate for Mao, it's really quite sad when you think about it.
I honestly hope that Mao and Yuna stay oblivious about stuff like this until the end of their skating careers. It's a shame.
My thanks go out to this forum for never suggesting that we vote against Yuna, but what other people are doing is spiteful.

I hope that too We know Mao has the potential and the talent, now she needs to find a good coach and to practice her jumps

I really think this obsession of puting Mao against Yuna, calling her Yuna's archrival is kinda sick too and this scares me

Update: Mao didn't make it to the next round. I guess they succeeded~

She lost to Yu-Na, which is quite surprising since Heiss got the most votes out of anyone in that particular round against Mao.

MK is also out, btw, which I'm sure the USFS were not expecting to happen.
The remaining skaters left in the tournament are: Yu-Na, Gordeeva/Grinkov, S/Z, and Torville/Dean.
