Wow, great job Mao! And what a score! 126 with a 3A downgraded, no 3-3 and a mistake at the end... Once she improves in those aspects, the score will be monstrous! Happy dance

Absolutely flawless, the mistake at the end was so cute. I love the way she was reacting to that, it's just very sweet.

A pity the second axel was downgraded, but still awesome.
How may points will she get, when she has 2 fully rotated ones and the loop in the program(I really was missing that one)?

So good to see her doing the salchow, a lovely, lovely performance. It's a slap in the face for those who believed Mao was devastated after a single competition.

Have you tried playing the vidoes in Media Player Classic after installing WebTV? I don't actually use WebTV for viewing the videos, it just added some codecs to my sestem that were missing and Media Player Classic started playing them just fine. I tried it on two different PCs and it worked. Smile

That was gorgeous!! I think I've watched it 10 times now.

And I've noticed... the jump passes weren't even maxed out. Mao still has space to add a 3L at the end of her second 3F. Can you imagine that program with a fully rotated second 3A and another 3-3?! And judging by the steps, is she planning on doing a 3Lz instead of the 3T at some point? WOW!

That would totally blow away records! Plus, if we get even more ahead of ourselves, she talked about doing a 3A+3T... Panic!

Little side note: highest PCS of the season out of all of the skaters Woot!

. And so well deserved at that.

Thanks so much for this! I was in tears while watching this, particularly for the second 3axel and the 3 sal, thinking how much courage it required to go for these. I also felt that the entire audience was watching Mao like one big family and their thoughts were blanketing Mao like a protective layer. And it is Mao's endearing personality and incredible desire to keep improving herself that make people care deeply about her.

Mao shows us time and again what a couragous person she is! Thank you, Mao-chan!

would be totally enough. If she swaps the toeloop for the Lutz and adds a 3 loop the flip, I think she definitely could break her record.
She needs to get consistent at these jumps.
I think TAT and Mao are really testing what's possible for 2010..

I do hope Mao's changing her lp dress in 2009. I like this one, but it's just too dark.
I've watched her lp about 10 times now and I feel it's something very explosive and intoxicating.
A colorful dress would match this sound and composition better.
I just love her smile she showed during the spiral. She really should do that more often during the waltz. It would suit this vivid program <3

What I gathered from Mao's interviews:

3A combo (she didn't say what the second jump would be in the final/maxed-out version)
3A (this will be changed to a combo if the first 3A becomes a solo jump)
3f+2l+2tanol (she didn't comment on this combo, so not sure what the final version will be)
3s (she said that this would stay in the program this season)
3f+3l (she confirmed that this was the intended combo)
3z (she said that TAT and her decided to replace this with 3t for NHK in order to focus on the two 3A's)

Ok, well so technically she didn't quite get the second 3A, but she didn't step out, and her first 3A earned 9.80 pts, which is more than the base value of a 3F+3T, so I'm totally thrilled!!! And she got +GOE on her 3S! Dance

I personally think that she should just do the single 3A first. That way, she can build her confidence and then go after the 3A+2T as her second jump pass.
