| Bah... I must go to my theory of literature class. I had hoped the ladies SP will be over before that. Good luck, Mao! | |

I'll be happy to do PBP for Mao's SP, cera. So far, Akiko is in first. She popped her single triple, but the rest of the program was wonderful - her steps are amazing! Katrina was divine, and she's in second behind Akiko. Warm-up currently taking place! ETA: Hmm, Mao is doing very good jumps, but also popping and opting to do singles as well. She's also practicing spins. Not sure how this will turn out. WebTV is 20 seconds behind the NHK broadcast, which is a bit of a bother.

| PBP of Mao's SP by clovera I'm nervous! 3fl-3lo!!! Amazing height. 3lz, nice. Excellent spirals (maybe a teensy wobble), she smiles Eagles 2A. Wonderful. Delicate, but intricate and beautiful steps Combo spin w/ broken camel, good Layback to Biellmann - better position, axis than at TEB She's so happy, and me too! Standing O's, rain of flowers, and a very happy TaT as well. 64.64, into first. UR? Edge call? Need to see protocols. But great job Mao! | |

| One girl said that Mao's 3loop looks like 2 loop, so may be she lost points there and may be in spirals, BUT SHE DID A CLEAN PROGRAM!!!! Mao you're the BEST! | |

| Ugh, ISU results page is a big failure this competition. Yay for Mao!! 1. Mao Asada JPN 64.64 2. Ashley Wagner USA 61.52 3. Laura Lepisto FIN 59.14 4. Akiko Suzuki JPN 55.56 5. Yukari Nakano JPN 54.82 6. Katrina Hacker USA 53.80 7. Cynthia Phaneuf CAN 53.48 8. Mirai Nagasu USA 50.14 9. Na-Young Kim KOR 47.92 10. Anastasia Gimazetdinova UZB 42.84 11. Katarina Gerboldt RUS 42.42 12. Annette Dytrt GER 37.62 I love NHK's hi-def broadcasts. Not to mention the zero commercial interruption, or that the resident announcer actually understands skating, so his conversations with Shizuka are helpful to the casual fan. As I said in my PBP, Mao was lovely. Need to see protocols for more info, but she had over 30 points on her PCS. Well deserved. Hopefully all the trolls going over Mao's "gifted" scores in TEB see this performance. Like Rachael, I believe Ashley is in a good position right now out of the U.S. Ladies. No 3-3, but still over 60 points! Improved expression, ice coverage...there's alot to appreciate about her. Laura was solid, and lyrical. Katrina was elegant. Akiko had fire, and even with her error she's in 4th with 55 points. Yukari will surely bounce back in the free. Mirai... She had amazing speed, and she looked far more comfortable and expressive here, but the 1-2 combo hurt her. I also felt her spins and jump rotations were slower this competition...is her ankle still bothering her? Best wishes to all the skaters in the free, and I shall now upload vids for those impatient ones! | |

| A very important result! (Still haven't seen the exact perfomance, though. Neither mediafire, nor dailymotion, nor, in fact, this forum in China (where I've been since the Skate Canada) don't work. ) | |

I wonder why it doesn't work for you, cera. I've actually tried d/l them on the university PC's and it worked fine (albeit the d/l speed being rather slow because of the uni's network). Well, here it is: https://www.dailymotion.com/cloverathe2nd/video/12677588There's a weird screen flashy thing going on for the first 20 seconds or so as Mao gets ready, but the rest is fine...albeit in not-so-good quality. That's the cost of double encoding a file that is already encoded for online viewing, I guess. Just a temporary fix for those unable to get the MediaFire vids until ppl with access to recorded TV broadcasts upload vids of a higher quality~ - summervie wrote:

Very important indeed! I'm having a hard time restraining myself from chuckling at the poor skating "fans" who counted Mao out after just one competition. When will they ever learn!
