| It took a *bit* longer than I expected, but the Eurosport version of Mao's FS is finally on the web! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT0mzbTcfN8 "What about that for a performance!" -Chris "I stand corrected...absolutely wonderful interpretation!" -Nicky | |

| Great commentary as always! I especially loved the comment about the step sequence looking as if created by ice dancers. The Sunday Sports had some sweet and funny moments. Mao and Nobu are so kind and humble. It made me even more happy for their win. | |

| Chris and Nicky are my absolute favourites And I think it's fantastic that British Eurosport is dedicating so much air time to skating. Makes me wish I lived there just so I could get live access to their coverage . CBC's only concerned with about three events a year: SC, nationals and worlds... Not bad but I wish they'd pay more attention to the GP this close to the Olys and with so many promising canadian skaters. Oh well, at least I can get videos online thanks to you guys | |

| Youtube version of Eurosport coverage officially removed by U.S. Figure Skating (aka Icenetwork). Ugh. As well as the original FS vid that garnered 180,000+ views and all the other NHK vids. I understand they have the broadcasting rights, but maybe if they bothered to look at the statistics and the international audience...(it was one of the most watched and discussed sport videos this weekend over stuff like basketball and football!) Advertisers, start noticing and get a clue!! I cannot believe the lack of support L.A. Worlds is getting - NBC is only airing 2 hours worth of worlds (Ladies FS), the rest is on Oxygen where the casual TV watcher won't notice or care. And with that thought, here is muffin14's version of Eurosport's coverage of Mao's Masquerade LP on DM: https://www.dailymotion.com/search/mao%2Basada/video/x7kvzy_mao-asada-2008-nhk-lp_sport | |

I agree. I think they are missing an opportunity. What's more, I think IceNetwork and Youtube are not mutually exclusive. People go to IceNetwork for live coverage, and to Youtube to discuss performances and interact with other fans. Not to mention the fact that probably about 80 percent of people who watch the videos are from Japan and Korea, and it's not like they can watch the GP on IceNetwork, because it's blocked outside of USA!

Agreed. It is a bit ironic that the one requesting it IS USFS, and not the Japanese federation. While JASRAC and other Japanese networks are fundamentally very strict and attempt to have videos of their shows and music removed pronto, it remains quite different for skating. I think they do realize that exposure is required for the sport to maintain popularity, and I do sense a bit of ego in the Japanese federation's part to let the world indeed know that their singles skaters are doing very well in the world (not a bad thing, since they really are doing excellent! ). It's a pity narrow-minded business decisions have to be made like this. There are tons of musicians and television personalities who made it big because of the Web. If given a chance, I think "secondary" sports like diving/skating/gymnastics/synchronized swimming can be very popular - it's so enjoyable to watch, and the physical feats themselves are on par with, if not more impressive than "mainstream" sports like basketball, football, etc. They aren't getting the funds or investors though (not the case for Japan, obviously), so in places like the U.S. they'll always play second fiddle to the corporate giants of NFL/NBA/MLB, even stuff like Championship Poker and Purina dog shows!

| That is really annoying. I don't understand why no broadcaster had purchased the exclusive rights to skating coverage in the US... it's probably the only major country that doesn't. For that reason, IN feels it is within its right to charge US fans who want to access live coverage (although I gathered that the service is quite poor). Since they want as many fans as possible to register, of course they would consider YT as a threat. On the other hand, I think they failed to notice that skating is broadcasted and available free of charge to fans in Canada, most of Europe, Japan, China and many other countries (not a 100% sure about this but correct me if I'm wrong). I personally grew really annoyed with not being able to use YT for its original purpose and am now downloading from a figure skating vids forum. It takes up space on my computer but it's a small sacrifice to enjoy Mao's program in HQ with Chris and Nicky | |

Actually, this year, CBC are broadcasting all the Grand Prix series but 2 weeks later (so this week end, it was TEB). Also, you can watch the Grand Prix on Canal Évasion.

| Thanks for all the links to the videos and photos. NHK trophy was really exciting. I got to see the British Eurosport version yesterday and I'm so happy Nicky took back his words about Mao's music and performance for the LP There was one line I didn't quite understand. The part is almost at the end of the commentary, Nicky says "And if you're going to leave it, have a little stotter (?). Leave it till the last moment." Maybe my ears got it wrong? Can anyone tell me what that means?? | |

I didn't know about Canal Évasion... if it's in French, is it commented by the pillars of french canadian figure skating competition aka Alain Goldberg et Richard Garneau If so, that would be awesome! There's nothing that brings more memories than these two. They've just been doing that for soooo long! Hello mitsuno! Nicky said stutter and was refering to the slight stumble Mao had coming out of her final spin.

- Has anyone seen the CBC version for TEB? I'm checking YT everyday but no luck
erm well I have it but it's not mine and since I downloaded it from fsvids.net, where there has very recently been of lot (and I mean a lot) of complaining about people posting other's property outside of the forum, I'd feel really awful posting it here. You guys tell me what you think... These vidmakers flagging their videos as soon as they come up on YT (I'm not complaining here; it's obviously their right since they made it) combined with IceNetwork's handy work of removing anything skating is probably why there aren't any videos from CBC. I'm starting to hate IN Every single GP video from this season I click on is "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by U.S. Figure Skating"... gggrrrrrrr Kurt was really impressed with the vehicle (the program, music, choreo) and did not at any point mention that it might not be right for her (I love him so much). He said she and TAT were probably still ajusting to the many changes this season, was raving about her 3A (even if two-footed) and her gorgeous footwork. You can tell she's one of his favourite skaters As for NHK on CBC with commentary (not the web version), I'm checking the schedule and I don't see anything. If you guys see something on their schedule, please tell me!! I'll be the first in front on the TV

| Thanks for the summary of the CBC commentary! I totally missed it. I hope they'll show NHK as well, but probably we'll have to wait. TEB was aired almost 2 weeks after it was over, wasn't it? | |

| Thanks for the info, Chiyori! Don't bother about posting the vids. I don't want anyone to get in trouble Besides, I'm happy enough to know that Kurt was impressed. It always makes me smile that such a great skater is a Mao fan Thanks again! | |
