| Skate Canada will be happening this weekend so this thread will be all about the events there. It'll be interesting to see Liza vs Gracie and if Kaetlyn will be able to deliver like she did at Nebelhorn. But I will still be rooting for Akiko and Kanako. --- Anybody going to see the competition live?

| Oh, i can't wait for SC to start. Go Javi (i absolutely adore his charlie Chaplin free program ), and Nobu! For the ladies, I hope Liza is going to kick some major butt. I could live with Liza winning, Akiko getting the silver and Elene the bronze (I like her free program). Will there be any streaming available like it was for last year SC? I don't think Eurosport is going to be showing everything. | |

| I want Liza to do well too! Esp after what's happened to Adelina in FP...such a shame! Rooting for Akiko and Kanako, Nobu and Mura of course...I'm guessing Akiko will be in better shape than JO. Kanako, I have no idea. Nobu...getting better it seems, but very worried if he can go for a quad yet. Mura I think has a better chance of nailing a quad than Nobu, but he's one of those middle class skaters in Jpn which the media almost never report on, so don't have a clue how his condition is. Last but not least, I truely hope that Denis will be able to skate better than the past seasons...I really care for him so much eversince I saw him skating in an ice show in Jpn. He had so much obvious potential then, I want to go on believing he still has it! Plz cheer for him too guys, cause he's really a very nice person too (I've exchanged personal messages with him on FB several times )! | |

Thanx for the link. I can't believe I missed the practice. I completely forgot. Luckily there's the afternoon practice as well.

Don't worry our Liza wasn't there Oh, well I do feel better now. I guess it was to early for her? Savchenko/Szolkowy also missed their morning practice. roma, thanks. I forgot to add that it was the ladies I missed. Now I'm glued to the computer. I refuse to miss any more practice, since SC is so nicely showing them live. I wish other countries would do the same.

Yep, but she was quite slow today, I hope it's jet lag or something but she's in a good shape and that's what matters the most She looked very tired to me. But seing 3L-3T was great, though the 3T looked a bit UR to me. wasn't she supposed to be in Canada since saturday? Man, all this live practice streaming makes me wish Mao was at SC.

Yes, but jet lag is at 5th day i guess, but it differs usually . Maybe you are right, she was tired. I also like Ksusha though her jumps are not good ,I like her skating and her programs are so lovely!!!

| I liked Ksenia a lot too, but I kind of lost my faith in her sadly. I don't expect her to surprise me and improve her jumps and consistency by a whole lot, but I hope she proves me wrong. She has some really nice qualities that would make her my favorite Russian girl otherwise. | |

What do you think about their FD from the bits and pieces in this video? They blew me away with this to be honest, I expect a masterpiece. But I would like to wait and see it in full and in costumes before making my final judgement. But I definitely like it a lot more than last year's Funny Face. I am not sure about some of the moves though very brave.

| Yeah. This one looks better than FF but there seems to be too much sexual vibe from what we can currently see... Lets see how it goes when they finally skate it in full. VM SD practice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6U1Tu9J1R8 | |

Me too, IMO, it's a masterpiece in the making, and this is coming from a HUGE Merly/Charlie fan. I can't wait to see this in the competition. - roma wrote:

Yep, agree, however, Carmen is a temptress/seducer, so some sexual vibe has to be there, imo, I hope though they're not going overboard with it. Carmen's charachter is the reason I cringe when I see 16 year olds skate to this. Most of the time they portray her in a cute way (Mirai), and this isn't Carmen. Even with Sasha, I'd prefer it if she skated Carmen years later instead of in SLC, imo, she could've blown everyone away.

| Ladies short program just finished, what can i say. Elene really deserved her 1st place, huge improvement! Huge 3lz-3t, little dirty spots in steps and 3 sal but overall great performance. Osmond, nothing special, just good jumps and...Canadian. Ksusha, if only you did that 2 axel!!! The program is magical! Skating was gorgeous ...and Akiko, don't like program, don't like skating. Today she was heavy and slow. Well, I guess it's all jet lag hope she will recover at FS! Liza too) | |

| The scores are all very close. Liza may be in sixth, but she's only five points behind Elene and I still doubt Elene's ability to pull off a clean lp. I think that any of the top six still has a good chance to win or medal. | |
