I was scared he would break 100 because he's canadian ...
Well, I like Canada! There are so many nice and warm people there. But you have to admit, today is a nice day to be Canadian.
It's not the Canadian people, it's those Darn judges that I can't stand.
Of course shar. I do understand what you mean. I just don't want to pour out my frustration on Patrick, because I know he deserved high scores but goodness, the favoritism in Canada is so blatant that certain 'bonuses' are already expected. Well, I don't wanna dwell on this for too long. Even Mao had been bashed because of the system...

tell me about it, last years scoring was a joke and this years is looking to be the same.
though both pairs are so insanely good, that it's going to be close. i wonder, if D/W lose yet again, will they come to their senses and will leave Marina? We all know who her favourites are.

it's funny. someone commented on ontd-skating that patrick's outfit looks like it's from wet seal. i completely agree! that see through lace and cleavage and blue color scream wet seal!
you summed it up perfectly. What did the geniouses say? now you got me curious.
Well.. there was a Takahito Muro, Brain Joubert was the topic when Yuzu was skating (didn't mention at once what brilliant performances he had with this SP and of course they don't know about the flu and the injury Yuzu had). When Dai was skating they only talked about the UR quad. I mean the performance was ... but maybe they aren't capable of seeing that. And after Patrick's skate they said that he deserves 5 points more in PCS than Dai and 10 points than everybody else. So they were totally alright with the 98+. "Good judging!" In all my madness I could almost laugh when Sigi was shouting: "NEUER WELTREKORD VON MICHAEL CHAN!" Nobody corrected him... All in all their comments could be worse... at least they noticed that Joubert's PCS were to high. That is quite something for them...
edit: if Japan really loses their 3 spots I don't want to watch Men's figure skating anymore!!!!!

Oh my God, these two are just hilarious. just wait for tonights ladies SP. Yuna will be the second coming, Caro is already perfect (seriously, I wonder if these two have an altar with Caro's picture on it) and Mao will get bashed to pieces.
Yep, this sums up the very knowledgeble german commentators. Once again, thank you for British commentators!!!

I bid you all a good night/morrow. I must meditate to calm my nerves before I go to sleep after watching this fiasco.

I am Canadian and I adore Tessa and Scott. And I completely agree with this post. Their FS last year is probably my favourite.

unfortunately this could happen. yuzu even when healthy has problems with his LP, I don't know what's wrong with Dai and I don't know Mura. But maybe all three of them will get massively pissed and will produce three amazing skates. One hopes.

did anyone get the idea that brian was trying to be plushenko-esque with his short program? dave from the skating lesson also mentioned that brian tries to be yagudin with his long program, too.

Is it the case that Japan's men are peaking too early? But come to think of it, Mao (and Akko and Kanako) were performing in the same amount of shows between nationals and 4CC, and the women seem to be doing fine, or even better! I think they're just the iron women!

Thanks so much for the updates and videos everyone!!!
After seeing the videos of PChan and Daisuke back to back...I thought they were both really really beautiful.
I'm not a PChan fan by any means, but it was the best that I've seen him skate- and I was actually moved. All the edges and turns were done with such precision. And tacking that 3T at the end of the 4T really made a difference.
Of course there is the usual home-field inflation, but if I look at the PCS compared to Daisuke...there's 2.5 points of a difference, which is ok in terms of fairness. PChan's program was more intricate in choreography, there was more connection between everything. Not to say that Dai's program wasn't gorgeous, there is a small difference between them.
The main difference was the TES...Dai's jumps were not as great as PChan's. But the judges got it right when they gave Dai HUGE GOE on his step sequence! Oh the speed and fluidity of Dai's step sequence...amazing!
I'm looking forward to the LP...hope everyone performs at their best! (And I'm happy for Denis, looking forward to see his skate).
Good luck to Mao tomorrow!!! Her practice videos look great! She doesn't seem to skate until 3 hours after the SP starts...so much waiting!

Yuzu was dealing with his ankle injury from 2012 Worlds at Finlandia, his Asthma also worsened around that time and heading into SA, as far as I know everything was fine for NHK, on the day of the FS at GPF he had to do an interview with the principal of Waseda University (aka stress much?), then after FS caught some weird bug, 4CC... fatigue? After 4CC lung infection and injured knee heading into Worlds...... Probably the worst season he has ever had to skate
The women are just.... they are the heart of Team Japan this season, all about the women!
