I'm really excited for tomorrow competition! I can't wait to see Mao's performance! Hopefully, I'll get to see her performance live, it forecast a snowstorm here in Quebec for tomorrow, so maybe to school will close, I hope so! If not, I'll have to wait all day long Neutral

good luck to mao! i watched the cbc coverage of the pairs short program and ice dance and they had a little clip of mao, like 10 seconds. lol.

This article is about the importance of mental support by coaches for figure skaters. It says people who can support Mao mentally, especially with Japanese words, are very important. Mr.Kato, the trainer, one of the supporting staff from JSF, is such person.

When Mao was second at the 2006 junior worlds, she said "Mr.Kato told me "You are not a machine, sometimes your body doesn't move as you wish", that cheered me up a bit"
At the 2007 GPF, Mao also said "I feel confident when Mr.Kato is nearby, so I asked him to be with me."

A poster at GS said "I would not be surprised to see that break Yu-Na's record from last year". And that is all that matters for me - stingy judging be damned (seriously, lvl1 spiral? Her spirals are class in the World! And so are spins, she improved them so much.).

I'm so proud - she improved so much this year. I hope she'll find a coach that will help her to fix her lutz (Barkell, Barkell!), so that she can finally become a skater with no weaknesses. Love Hearts

But, IMHO, they should be even higher. She improved so much since last Worlds, and then she got PCS up to 8's... The CoP works really weird this year. Faint2

Asada hit all of her jumps easily, seeming to hover momentarily above the ice before making her rotations. Her triple flip-triple loop combination, triple lutz and double axel were all gorgeous.

But none of her elements received the highest difficulty levels -- something she said she'd have to study before the final long program.

"The difference between first and second is not so much, so I will do my best in the long," said Asada, who finished with 64.10 points. "I was satisfied with my jumps, but not with the levels on the spirals and spins."

Mao said "Though I did good 3+3 jump, I regret that I couldn't get the level I expected with spins and so forth. I grade my performance at 60 or 70 points out of 100. Yeah, I just noticed that when I watched the video. I just read in an interview that she will use the Nationals costume, so that's why I thought she skated in Mai's. Sweatdrop

Oh, wow.

In last year's program, I couldn't help crying whenever I saw the twizzle t the end of the step sequence... At this Worlds, the entire step sequence brought me to tears. Just amazing. Spectacular. Bawling
