| http://iceblue.cocolog-nifty.com/figure/2008/03/sp_4997.htmlThis interview was just after the drawing. (My poor translation) "I will skate 4th in the group. I think it's nice because I can train with full power at the 6 minutes practice then I can take a rest. Honestly I don't mind anything about SP including the starting order, I just want to do my best performance.(Smile) I know SP is very important, I did a big mistake at the last worlds, so I want to skate with deep concentration." "My condition is very good. I hope I can maintain this condition" "My SP costume will be what I wore at Japanese Nationals. I changed LP costume too, but just a small part of its fabric to more stretch one. Please try to find it!" http://www.chunichi.co.jp/chuspo/article/sports/news/CK2008031902096521.htmlThis article says Mao tried 3A four times and succeeded three times.

| http://iceblue.cocolog-nifty.com/figure/2008/03/post_96b2.htmlThis article is about the importance of mental support by coaches for figure skaters. It says people who can support Mao mentally, especially with Japanese words, are very important. Mr.Kato, the trainer, one of the supporting staff from JSF, is such person. (my poor translation) When Mao was second at the 2006 junior worlds, she said "Mr.Kato told me "You are not a machine, sometimes your body doesn't move as you wish", that cheered me up a bit" At the 2007 GPF, Mao also said "I feel confident when Mr.Kato is nearby, so I asked him to be with me." | |

| Yay, very nice and clean performance from Mao-chan The score seems bit low, but I am really happy to see Mao's smile at Kiss & Cry She was really beautiful It seems like Mao missed some levels, but I thought PCS could be higher. | |

| I'm so happy that Mao did so well!!! A poster at GS said "I would not be surprised to see that break Yu-Na's record from last year". And that is all that matters for me - stingy judging be damned (seriously, lvl1 spiral? Her spirals are class in the World! And so are spins, she improved them so much.). I'm so proud - she improved so much this year. I hope she'll find a coach that will help her to fix her lutz (Barkell, Barkell!), so that she can finally become a skater with no weaknesses. She is already a true queen of hard work! Congratulations, Mao!!!! | |

| It was very very very beautiful performance!!! Mao-chan, you are really great skater!!! Don't mind small mistakes! Sorry inskate, Mao wore the same costume at the 4CC not Japanese Nationals (Mai's). http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/figureskating/news/story?id=3301799Kostner leads short program at worlds; Asada second (AP) Asada hit all of her jumps easily, seeming to hover momentarily above the ice before making her rotations. Her triple flip-triple loop combination, triple lutz and double axel were all gorgeous. But none of her elements received the highest difficulty levels -- something she said she'd have to study before the final long program. "The difference between first and second is not so much, so I will do my best in the long," said Asada, who finished with 64.10 points. "I was satisfied with my jumps, but not with the levels on the spirals and spins." http://hochi.yomiuri.co.jp/sports/winter/news/20080319-OHT1T00214.htm(my poor translation) Mao said "Though I did good 3+3 jump, I regret that I couldn't get the level I expected with spins and so forth. I grade my performance at 60 or 70 points out of 100. However, it's good for me that the margin is narrower compared to the last year's. About the free skating, I wish to skate without loosing points in any element." | |

| Oh, wow. In last year's program, I couldn't help crying whenever I saw the twizzle t the end of the step sequence... At this Worlds, the entire step sequence brought me to tears. Just amazing. Spectacular. | |
