I know, I just felt kind of overwhelmed when I saw this picture with all these reporters around Mao. no matter how often this happens I just can't get used to them, they are soo many it's quite scary even to me who only sees it from outside, but like you said Mao is probably used to handling them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB9122f5Upc Thanx for posting this! Yuzu baby, please don't cry. It's breaking my heart seeing him like this. I hope almost against hope that he'll somehow pull of an amazing LP. And hopefully so will Javi, I want to see him on the podium so badly.

RESPECT! And as the last element?! Seriously, if they pull this off, they're going to win 5th world title. There's NO WAY Tanya/Max could beat this, no matter how much judges love them.

I've been saying this whole season. Any combo with 3Lo as a second jump is not worth the risk, because it will always get downgraded. You could be Yuna Kim and it would still get downgraded. Judges just love to do that with 3Lo.
Kanako is in third because of the PCS?!!! After that gorgeous program?! What more do the judges want?!!!
I'm watching pairs and it's really weird seeing 28 year old Han Zhang with his 15 year old partner and skating to Poeta at that. I feel dumb for asking this, but why doesn't Mao change her 3F-3Lo or why don't the Satos tell her? It's obvious to see that it's not worth the risk. Attempting it is honorable, but it means nothing if it gets downgraded, which is very very likely. I first watched Han Zhang on the TV as a kid when he won the silver medal at Torino. It's so weird to see him struggling now, with a girl 10 years younger than him. The age difference must be difficult for them. No offense, but at the end of the program, he seemed like: "Man, I'm too old for this".

Even Miki, who was a monster when it came to jumping couldn't get 3Lu-3Lo ratyfied, so you can imagine what Mao's chances are. actually Hao zhang is 13 years older, and parts of their choreography made me uncomfortable... Canadian couple just skated a clean program. We just got a look at what Kaetlyn's score is going to be if she skates clean tomorrow, 130 points.

Actually I feel like it's worth it: 3F-2Lo with +GOE was 7.50 (GPF) to 8.00 (4CC) 3F-3Lo< (at 4CC) scored 8.50 with slight -GOE. If Mao gets the height and distance, even a UR affects the GOE slightly. If she lands a 3F-3L however, the score would be huge. Maybe inskate who's more of an expert on this can share their opinion

| S/S won't win and I hardly believe they'll land a throw 3A at the end of the program but since they won't win, might as well go down with a bang. Really love them for this | |

Maybe inskate who's more of an expert on this can share their opinion I agree with you. Doing 3-3Ls used to be extremely risky, because under the old rules the underrotated triple not only had its base value downgraded to that of a double jump, but also the judges were forced to give the combo negative GoE. In result, a slightly flawed 3-3L ended up being worth way less than a 3-2 combo. Thankfully it's no longer the case. As for why Mao isn't attempting 3F-3T - I think it's simply not ready yet. It would be yet another new element that she'd have to put a lot of effort into perfecting, and right now her jumping layout is full of elements that are still relatively new to her. Speaking of jumps - I uploaded a zipped gif pack here: http://speedy.sh/58HH8/Upload-gifs.zip(Mostly practice clips from Worlds, + some from 4CC + 1 from GPF) I uploaded some of them at http://figureskatinggifs.tumblr.com/ (but there are more in the pack)

Someone at Golden skate said, that their coach said on a TV that Aliona will decide wether she'll risk 3A during the program itself. But hipothetically, if they would land 3A and were squeaky clean, how in the world could Tanya/Max beat this. And this is coming from a HUGE Tanya/Max fan.
