| Wow, I've been totally out of it, haven't I?! I had no idea about this!! Interesting... Though personally I think that even if Mao had a bit of a crush on Dai, he would only think of her as a little sister... | |

| https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YijfmKR8EL4&feature=player_embeddedMaybe you've already seen this already, but it's some news on how Dai's training is going in Hokkaido (Why is he training there?).....He did a quad in it. Looks pretty good. He says he wants his new manbo SP to be something which excites everyone, and a pro which he and the audience can all enjoy together. Some of the moves are kinda funny though... | |

yes, i'm pretty sure david wilson choreographed this. tbh, while i have always said how predictable i find david's choreography, i tend to eat my own words after watching programs he choreographed for his male clients. maybe it's just the skaters. the men overall tend to be more successful on taking command and bringing life to their choreo imo, so maybe i just haven't given david enough credit?

| For some reason I'm not too fond of this program yet. May be it's because I don't see Dai here. Stephane, Jeff or Yuna, but not Dai. Time will tell, I really hope this program will grow on me, in my head I understand how great this program is, but I don't feel it. | |

I know what you mean. while i love yuna's danse macabre, I'm not a big fan of her programs post 2007. however I love what David has done for Dai and I hear Taka's sp is also great.

It definitely helps that his male clients in recent memory (Jeff, Jeremy, and now Dai and Kozu) are all known for having and being able to pull off elaborate footwork so I'm starting to wonder if the actual skaters have something to do with it as well. I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion elsewhere but despite the speed and solid basic skating I've never exactly thought of Yu-Na as being particularly adept when it came to footwork, although I did appreciate her SLSS for her 06-07 programs and even Homage to Korea. I always feel there's a bit of a template regarding the step sequences for the vast remainder of her programs however, and I experience the same kind of deja vu when I see the footwork for other frequent Wilson clients like Christina Gao and Adam. Of course, I can't exactly say for sure though because the ladies who *do* have great footwork in my eyes like Mao/Mirai/CaroK usually turn to Lori instead or in the case of Akiko, neither. Back to Dai - the announcer in the video said he'll be putting the 4T back to his SP but is this confirmed?

| I really like his new program! However, I do kinda wish he could skate to something other than the latin/spanish styled type of music that has dominated his skating programs in recent years.

Back to Dai - the announcer in the video said he'll be putting the 4T back to his SP but is this confirmed? good point you brought up on the footwork. i agree. as for dai and the quad - i really hope that he puts one in for his sp. needless to say, patrick will be putting one in, but i also hear that jeremy abbott has resolved his boot problems and will definitely put one in, and i'm pretty sure taka will as well. it looked to me as though taka was preparing for a 4T but tripled it instead during his sp début at the ice. i think dai will really need it this season. what worries me is that left leg he uses to vault into his 4T. i wonder if he is still feeling weakness in that leg?

I think Dai is under the pressure and will put one quad in. https://youtu.be/KiptpodOn3E Ending of Friend on Ice Both Yuzuru and Taka landed quad and Dai tried a harder one 4F. At the same day, Taka also landed 4T in his SP. It's a little bit sad that I love Dai's performance but when it comes to quad, Patrick has so much advantage now. Then I heard about there were quad competition between Yuzuru and Artur in Fantansy on Ice Hope these young boys won't hurt themselves~I hate to hear injury and surgery news, and I am kind of missing Nobu now.
