I couldn't agree more. There's something that's bugging me about Ashley, I don't like her. However, I do wish Mirai would posses some of Ashley's work ethics and determination.
Two weeks to go until The Ice! I can't wait! To shorten the time until we see Mao again, I've been listening to her new exhibition music over and over and I'm sooo in love with it. When you listen to the lyrics and compare it to what Mao has gone through for the past 5 years, it's almost as if the song has been written for her. I don't know if she announced which version she'll use, but I'm hoping she'll go with Josh Groban. His rendition is simply amazing.

Nat king Cole is fantastic, but I prefer Josh's version. His voice soooooo dreamy.
Oh God, I completely agree, I hope she's not using Ima's version. I hope Lori has more sense than that...
I was thinking, "Smile" would make an amazing SP for Mao. I wish she'd chosen this instead of Chopin (no matter how freaking amazing this program was in 2006/07).

Mao's layout has always been really interesting to think about, especially during this last couple of seasons, when her arsenal of jumps has improved a lot, so she has so many possibilities to choose from! I'm always very curious about what she's going to attempt, too! But we can't say anything about it basing on what she attempts in this EX, she and her coach can obviously always change things... that said, I think that she will perform her SP, because it's a program that she's comfortable with, and I don't think that her FS can be ready this early...

My guess is she'll go for: 3A, 3F-3Lo, 2A-3T, 3F-2lo-2lo, 3Lu, 3Sa, 3Lo.
What I'd die to see is: 3A, 3F-3Lo, 3F-3T, 3Lu, 3Sa, 2A-2t-2lo, 3Lo
I still wish she'd ditch 3F-3lo since it's insanely difficult to get it ratified, but I doubt it. Can you imagine a skate with 8 triples?! If she pulls it off it's going to be epic! I also wouldn't be surprised if she's trying to bring back two 3A in the LP, but I hope she isn't planning this. IMO, the risk isn't worth it.
I also don't think LP is going to be ready for The Ice, however this is Mao we're talking about so anything is possible. She could take the combos out and modify the program and just go for a few triples.

There will be 6 shows, 3 in Aichi and 3 in Osaka. The Ice starts in Aichi on July 24 (2 shows), July 25 (1 show), in Osaka the show will be held on July 27 (2 shows) and july 28 (1 show).
